Missions

Encountering Christ
Serving our Community
Engaging the World

We serve our neighbors through many different ways. From our 24x7 food pantry to partnerships with international mission organizations, we are actively rolling up our sleeves to help others. Our congregation is currently active in ministry across three continents: Africa, North America, and South America. And we are currently building partnerships in Asia. Our goal is to be actively engaged in missions on 6 continents by 2026: feeding the hungry, binding wounds, preparing pastors for ministry, building homes, improving water supplies, and partnering with missionaries.

Handyman and Disaster Response Ministry

Rivers Edge volunteers
working in Tennessee

Ed Welch said, "When someone is hurting, move toward, move toward, move toward."

We strive to move toward others through service to our neighbors in a variety of ways, including handyman services and disaster relief.

Our disaster response team helps clean up and rebuild communities that have been damaged by tornadoes, hurricanes, or other disasters. Sometimes we partner with organizations like Rivers Edge Ministries.

LOCAL AND International Missions Support

Kenya

We have partnered with the Evangelical Lutheran Diocese in Kenya to help them build their seminary to train pastors.

Madagascar

We partner with Friends of Madagascar Mission through our financial support. We are currently exploring new ways to get more involved in this ministry. We actively support FOMM by managing and training their microinternship program.

Laos

Our partner, Heart for Mission Laos/Thailand, focuses on Bible translation and theological education of pastors and lay leaders who live and serve in tribal areas of Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. You can also join their prayer and email lists.

Quilts for the World

Our quilting group distributes their quilts all over the world through our partnership with Lutheran World Relief

House of Hope Madagasikara

We've partnered with other congregations to help build an orphanage in Madagascar.

Local

Our congregation is also actively involved in helping our community in Northern Kentucky. We regularly serve in in our community by providing resources for the homeless, serving meals at Hosea House, and our own Pantry of Hope provides food for anyone who needs it.
